1970s Vintage Seiko 6138 Automatic Chronograph "Black Panda"

Introducing
Seiko 6138 Automatic Chronograph
Black Panda"
Circa 1970s

Starting now, I'll be exhibiting some wristwatches from my private collection. While they're not exactly the most rare and expensive Seikos out there, I seem to gotten a liking for them.

So here they are, in all their glory.

One of the things that caught my attention was the bi-compax chronograph. I had not much knowledge about vintage Seikos at that time, but was really awed by the concave subdials of the hour and minute registers.

Sitting under the generously domed acrylic crystal, the gold appliqued hour indices made the dial even more three-dimensional.

And upon closer inspection, the lovely hour and minute hands.

Tachymetre, minute tracks and a nicely segmented sub-dial makes for easy reading of the elapsed time for the chronograph.

The domed acrylic crystal makes admiring the timepiece from different angels worthwhile. And beating inside is the no-nonsense 6138 automatic hand windable chronograph.
